Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School organised the People’s Education Programme (PEP) 2026 under the direction of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Bhopal, on 28 and 29 September 2026 in connection with Gandhi Jayanti.
The programme aimed to promote awareness of Khadi, Swadeshi, village industries, self-reliance and Gandhian values among students. An Essay Writing Competition and Debate Competition were conducted on related themes, with winners felicitated with KVIC products, certificates and prizes.
A seminar featured insightful addresses by Principal Ms. Amrita Motwani, Management Member Shri Manohar Vaswani, teachers and KVIC officials, highlighting self-reliance, dignity of labour, skill development and entrepreneurship.
The session was enriched by live demonstrations of pottery making and charkha spinning, along with an inspiring account of self-employment supported through a government loan scheme. The pottery demonstration offered students a glimpse into traditional craftsmanship, while the charkha demonstration helped them understand the process of making Khadi. The programme concluded with a Swadeshi and Khadi pledge, inspiring students to value indigenous products and embrace the spirit of self-reliance.
